WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW . . . THE BASIC CODE OF CONDUCT

1) FAMILIES FIRST! At the Austin Dam Memorial Park, our main goal is that this place is maintained as an enjoyable community space that is safe and comfortable for families. 2) The Austin Dam Memorial Association reserves the right to remove anyone from the property who fails to act in a manner that is respectful of others, fails to act in polite and courteous way, or fails to observe the Families First Rule. 3) Follow the Dam Safety Rules posted at the park. They include NO CLIMBING ON DAM RUINS. 4) Children must be supervised by their adults at all times. There is nothing more annoying to our volunteers than having to ask children not to climb on the dam ruins or asking children not to ride bikes through the crowd or other questionable activities while parents sit by passively. 5)  Pack Out Trash. We are all volunteers and everyone visiting the park is a volunteer charged with helping to keep the grounds picked up and free from trash. NO LEAVING TRASH IN FIRE RINGS! 6) The laws of the Commonwealth of PA apply to the Austin Dam Memorial Park property. Illegal Activity will not be tolerated. 7) SMOKING. As one of our guests said last year– “If you must smoke cigarettes, please make sure no one is downwind and that you take care of your butts.”

Open to the public.

Please, stay off the Austin Dam ruins. This is a historical landmark. You are visiting a historic landmark, a place where a great tragedy occurred a century ago. This is a place of historical significance, and we expect that you will respect it as such. Stay away from the Bayless Pulp and Papermill ruins and view only from a safe distance.
